Gatsby Charcoal Tin

Available to view at Kings Road London

Gatsby Charcoal Tin has five relief patterns that reproduce the victorian tin tiles so popular at the turn of the twentieth century. Unlike the painted tin of the original, the glaze on this tile has a metallic copper sparkle in the deeper parts of the pattern, lifting the lowlights and adding a little glamour. The tin tiles of the past decorated ceilings in the more grand homes of South Africa and Australia as an inexpensive alternative to the ornate plasterwork in European buildings. Gatbsy brings these designs into the twenty first century on a robust ceramic body for use on the wall.

These tiles are equally at home in wet or dry situations with their bold styling being easy to clean. Gatsby offers plenty of texture and variance of tone which lends it to pairing particularly well with other materials with a strong identity. Use with a terrazzo effect for a traditional feel or to demonstrate a contemporary edge use with a concrete effect. The patterns that make up this mix are not available individually.

Use Gatsby Charcoal Tin for:

Indoor walls including kitchen splashbacks, shower and bathroom walls.
