House of Fraser External Signage

Architects: Dyke Associates & Kinnersley Kent Design

Location: Oxford St London

In 2007 the external façade and front elevation at the House of Fraser Oxford Street Store was completely refurbished. Isola Platania granite was specified as this most closely matched the store’s side elevations which had been clad in granite many years before. The local Planning Authority insisted on as closer match as possible.

We supplied 1400x600x40mm cut to size polished panels which were fabricated by our Italian suppliers and these were subsequently delivered to site and installed by mechanically fixings onto a new steelwork frame. One the reverse side of each panel cobble slots and pin holes were cut to allow easy fixing of the granite.

Certain panels were finished with polished edges to allow for installation on columns or window reveals. Finally three House of Fraser logos were sandblasted into the granite to complete the project and give the store the true branding it needed.
