After detailed discussions regarding this project we proposed the use of Isola Gaja grey quartzite for the refurbishment of the reception, lobby and staircase areas within this prestigious location in the heart of London’s West End. Land Securities, the client, wanted a hardwearing grey stone floor without variation or veining and Isola Gaja Grey proved to be the ideal finish. Four control samples were subsequently approved and Reed Harris ensured a tight tolerance was maintained throughout the contract by visiting our Italian supplier on a regular basis and approving all the finished stone prior to shipment to the UK. 600x600x20mm honed tiles were used for all the flooring, 20mm & 30mm thick slabs of the same stone were fabricated into staircase treads with an inlaid fumed oak & stainless steel detail, along with cladding to dwarf walls and reception desks. The lift lobbies on the floors areas away from the main receptions were tiled in 900x600mm Reed Harris Absolute Stone a very hardwearing porcelain product available in a wide array of faux stone colours.
